Scholarships

Maps Credit Union and its charitable giving arm, the Maps Community Foundation, awards scholarships each year to local students based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership and accomplishments, career objectives, financial need, and responses to application questions.

2021 Scholarships

For 2021, Maps plans to distribute over $25,000 in scholarships. Preference is given to Maps members, however all are welcome to apply. New this year are several scholarships designated for students of color, first-generation college students, and Career Technical Education (CTE) students. Applications are available annually January 1 - March 31. 

The current 2021 scholarship applications are under review, and the winners will be announced late May.
 

Phil Frey Memorial Scholarship:

$3,500 will be reserved for any high school graduate from the Willamette Valley that will attend Oregon State University.
 

Gordon Sawser Memorial Scholarship:

$3,500 will be reserved for any senior graduat- ing from a Marion or Polk County high school who intends to pursue a degree in business
or accounting.
 

Dan Penn Scholarship: 

Two $1,000 scholarships will be reserved for any senior graduating from a Marion or Polk County high school who intends to pursue a degree in business, finance, or related studies.
 

Earl Littrell Memorial Scholarship: 

$3,500 will be reserved for any student(s) who intends to pursue a course of study in account- ing, economics, business or related studies at an accredited college or university in Oregon.
 

Maps Credit Union Scholarship:

Ten $1,000 scholarships will be reserved for seniors graduating from a Marion or Polk County high school. Two to be designated for students of color; two for first generation students; two for Career Technical Education students; plus, four general scholarships.
 

Maps Business Partner Scholarship: 

$3,000 will be reserved for any senior(s) from West or McKay High School who has been an active member in the Business and Management classes, working with the Maps high school branches.
