Executive and Board Members

Kim Hanson, Executive Director

Kim Hanson joined Maps as Executive Director of the Maps Community Foundation in January 2020. Kim has lived in Salem since 2004, working with many nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, including Marion-Polk Food Share, United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, Mountain West Investment Corporation, and the Salem-Keizer Career Technical Education Center. Kim also managed her own nonprofit consulting firm for 10 years. Kim has an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from University of Oregon.

Kathy Moore, Foundation Board Chair

Kathy Moore is the Director of Project Development at Willamette Workforce Partnership. Her background includes over 20 years of experience in business, education, leadership, and workforce development.

Kathy also serves on the Maps Board of Directors, Maps Governance Committee, and Maps Insurance Services Committee.

Judy Beebe, Foundation Board Vice-Chair

Judy Beebe, a Polk County resident since 2005 and Maps member since 2000, has an extensive financial management background, including Vice President of Finance at Kaiser Permanente Federal Credit Union, Pasadena, Calif. and Chief Financial Officer at ORCO State Employees Federal Credit Union, Orange, CA.

Judy currently works as the Finance Manager at Polk Community Development Corporation, after retiring from Western Oregon University. Additionally, Judy owns her own consulting firm providing expertise to non-profit organizations and construction companies.

Jenn Columbus, Foundation Board Secretary

Jenn is a native Oregonian and Salemite and has worked in a variety of community-oriented and philanthropic settings, currently serving as the Philanthropic Advisor and Regional Director of the Northern Willamette Valley for the Oregon Community Foundation.

Jenn received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon in 2006, majoring in Family and Human Services, with a minor in Special Education.

Mark Zook, Foundation Board Member

Mark Zook has been with Maps Credit Union since 1992 and is currently its president and CEO. In addition, Zook serves as CEO of Maps Service Agency and sits on the board of managers of both the Willamette Business Group and Ongoing Operations, two of Maps Credit Union’s partially owned subsidiary companies.

An active participant in the credit union movement, Zook has served on the board of directors of the Credit Union Association of Oregon (CUAO). He has been particularly active in the legislative arena, serving on the CUAO Candidate Taskforce, Bill Review Taskforce, State Legislative Review Subcommittee and Government Affairs Committee.

Chris Giles, Foundation Board Member

Chris Giles joined the Maps organization in 2004 as a consultant, before being hired full time in 2005.  Initially serving as General Manager in the Maps subsidiary company CU Wireless (CUW), Giles was named CEO of CUW in 2015.  In 2017, he was chosen to head up the newly created Strategic Payments function at Maps.  In addition to Payments, Giles also works closely with Maps’ technology groups to lead a cross-functional team tasked with creating best-in-class digital tools for our membership.

Sue Bloom, Foundation Board Member

Sue Bloom is the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion & Polk Counties. She is responsible for the overall success of the organization to positively impact the 15,000 youth served through 7 Clubs, a Health & Dental Service Center, teen workforce development program, athletics and community outreach.

Sue has been with the Boys & Girls Club for 10 years; serving as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Development Officer before moving to her current role as CEO in late 2014. Prior to the Club Sue was a fire operations supervisor for State Farm regional office in both northern California and Salem. When State Farm moved the regional office to Washington Sue jumped into the non-profit world; beginning with serving for nearly 10 years in various capacities at United Way, wrapping up as Executive Director.

Tom Marks, Foundation Board Member

Tom Marks and his wife Lynne became members of Maps Credit Union in 2002; that same year he was appointed to serve on the board of Maps Service Agency.

Marks is a broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Professionals. Previously, he was a business advisor at Chemeketa Community College’s Small Business Development Center. Marks is also the founder and former owner of Allied Video Productions, a Salem-based video production company. Marks is a well-known Salem area public servant. Over the past 30+ years he has given time and money in support of many organizations in the Mid-Willamette Valley.  In addition to volunteer positions at Maps, he currently serves as the vice-chair of Board of Directors at Marion County Fire District #1.
