Can I apply online for a business loan?

Maps Credit Union has an online form for commercial loans. Please fill out the form to let us know about your lending needs and we will follow up with you via phone or email (your choice).

Can I get preapproved for a business loan?

At this time, Maps doesn’t offer preapprovals for any business loans or business lines of credit. All requests go through our business underwriting (verification and approval) process, which, if approved, determines the credit amount, interest rate and term of the loan.

Is there a credit check for a business loan?

We will request a personal credit report from one or more of the consumer credit bureaus for each of the business owners when you apply for a business or commercial loan. In some cases, we will request a business credit report in addition to the personal credit report. You always have the right to request this information during the application process.

Can I get additional credit cards for my employees?

Yes, when you apply for a Maps business credit card you can request additional cards for employees. You can also add additional authorized users to established accounts by contacting the lending department.

How do I request a credit limit increase on my Maps Business Credit Card?

You can request a limit increase over the phone or in a branch, just give us a call at 503.778.1308.

Do I need collateral to secure a business line of credit?

In most cases, we require collateral in the form of general business assets, but unsecured loans are considered based on several factors (including loan or line amount requested). Typical collateral examples include the equipment or assets being purchased with the loan proceeds or the pledge of other business assets. In some instances, personal assets of the owners can be used as collateral for loans made to the business.

What documentation do I need when applying for a business loan?

When applying for a Business loan, line of credit, or commercial real estate loan, please bring two to three years of financial information. This will include tax returns and financial statements for both the business and the owners of the business. Contact our business lending team at 503.779.1308 to determine if there are any other documents you need to provide based on your specific loan request.

What types of equipment can be financed with a business loan or line of credit?

Maps Credit Union can finance a variety of equipment for your business needs. Some examples include light manufacturing equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, rolling stock, medical equipment, computer systems, office furniture, or other such things.
