Oct, 19 2018TACOMA, Wash. — Salem, Ore.-based Maps Credit Union has received a Credit Union Movement award for social responsibility and community service. Named for a co-founder of the North American Credit Union Movement — Dora Maxwell — the award was presented Oct. 18 during the Northwest Credit Union Association’s (NWCUA) annual MAXX Convention in Tacoma. NWCUA represents more than 180 credit unions in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

SALEM - The Maps Community Foundation is awarding $10,000 in Community Challenge grants to four nonprofits that have improved lives of more than 20,000 people in the Salem area.
Though their work varies from feeding the hungry, to giving foster children new shoes, all of the groups share a commitment to helping those in the mid-Willamette Valley, said Mitzi Smith, Community Development Officer of Maps Credit Union.
